Information about Vaplocon

 

Composition:

Each 1 ml of suspension contains 40 mg Simethicone.

Excipients:

Saccharine Na,HPMC, Banana flavor,Methyl paraben, Propyl paraben, Tween 80,   Span 80, Glycerin, Nacitrate dehydrate,Citric acid, Glycerol palmitato stearate, P.water.

Properties:

Physiologically simeticone is extremely inert, and therefore it will not be pharmacologically active. It works by altering the elasticity of interfaces of bubbles in the gastrointestinal tract. The gas bubbles are thus broken down or coalesced and in this form gas is more easily eliminated through eructation or passing flatus.

Indications:

Anti-flatulent agent for the symptomatic relief of flatulence, wind pains, bloating, abdominal distension and other symptoms associated with gastrointestinal gas.

Dosage and method of administration:

Oral suspension (drops) 40 mg/ml: Shake well before using; may mix with 30 mL water, infant formula, or other liquids.

Infants and Children <2 years or<11 kg: 20 mg 4 times daily after meals and at bedtime, as needed (maximum: 240 mg/day)

Children >2 years or >11 kg: 40 mg 4 times daily after meals and at bedtime, as needed (maximum: 480 mg/day)

Children >12 years: Refer to adult dosing

Renal and Hepatic Impairment: dosage adjustment unlikely due to the drug not being systemically absorbed.

Storage conditions:

Store at temperature doesn't exceed 25ºC. 

Once opened use within 28 days.
